BMW M1 Picture Credits

The photographers and licences behind every picture on bmw-m1.org, listed in the order the pictures first appear, with the pages each is on and the address of its file, followed by the embedded videos.

Every picture on these pages comes from Wikimedia Commons, and each is free to reuse under its licence. All but two are under Creative Commons licences that ask for a credit; the other two are in the public domain, a portrait of Andy Warhol taken by a White House photographer in 1977 and the M1's engine on display. Each picture is credited beside it on every page, and the list below collects those credits, with each licence named as its source names it. Lothar Spurzem's photographs, taken at the Nürburgring between 1973 and 1980, are under CC BY-SA 2.0 de, the German version of that licence, and they are shown whole, as one of his file pages asks. Other pictures may be cropped by their frames; a crop of a picture under a share-alike licence (BY-SA) is shared under the same licence.

A few captions name a stand-in and say what it shows: the M1's engine in Paul Rosche's section of the people page, the 1972 Turbo in Paul Bracq's, and, at the head of the Andy Warhol M1 page, a Procar in BMW Motorsport colours, which carries the label "Stand-in" both on the picture and before its caption. Cars that are not M1s are captioned as what they are, from the M1's rivals and forerunners to the cars that came after it. The videos the pages embed are listed after the pictures, by title, channel and year.
